Melancholy
It's cold outside my door,
The sun it came up slow.
You didn't stick around,
You didn't stay with me.
You had to go outside,
Go and see the world.
The world let you down,
But it set you free.
La, la, la, la, la ...
You know I'd lead you to the water,
Where fallen leaves sail like kings.
Gypsies dance in the sunshine,
And the river's daughter sings.
So you slipped away,
From underneath your mind.
You thought you'd have some fun,
In never, never land.
But you fell in too deep,
Way above you head.
These moments of despair,
Have got you by the hand.

Tangled
You weave a tangled web,
From darkness into day.
To save the dying knight,
You'd bring him to you fold.
And let him in your sleep.
Too easily lay him down,
He does not see, he does not see.
Your garment filled with dragons,
They're silent as they lay.
As you refuse to show me,
The way I've made you feel.
But I've made it in this far,
I'm walking in your cave.
You know I'm there, you know I'm there.
Some things are too precious,
To stand the light of day.
I spoke too soon,
And you went away.
But you introduced me,
And led me to myself
Dragons love little boys,
dragons love little boys.

Amandine
Flying down the highway,
The sun sinks so low.
Head for the heartland,
Let the evening go.
A little morning music,
Sends you on your way.
Halfway home to heaven,
You know you'll want to stay.
Where the stars shine at night,
And the trees sway gently in the wind.
Drummers play to the beat of your heart,
That passes through again and again.
Once I was a flower,
Buried in the dirt.
You stuck me through a button hole,
And wore me on your shirt.
I felt the glow of sunshine,
Hit me in the face.
And my heart was overwhelmed,
With beauty and grace.

All
the Mornings of the World Riding broken horses,
Over fallen limbs of trees.
The silent wind seems sadder still,
Than all the world's misery.
Crossing fields wet with rain,
Heavy with the morning dew.
Flowers bent low, to the ground
Tangled up in thoughts of you.
All the mornings of the world,
Beneath the shadow of your smile.
Would seem dark and dreary though,
Were I to walk a thousand miles.
Never knowing when to turn,
In the darkness most of all.
Till your heart shone like the sun,
Through winter, summer, spring, and fall.

Beneath
the Silver Moon A sparrow flies across the sky,
Just above the blue horizon,
Floating over crystal clouds,
Wings that bend so gracefully,
So fragile as they fall into,
The waiting August wind.
Lonely mountain standing still,
Suspended over evergreen.
Feet fall on a crumpled path,
Running over stony ground,
Just to find that they can only,
Stop and gaze so far.
Just beyond the morning falls,
The river of you dreams.
Escaping from the day,
These wild creatures run away.
When the evening hides the sun,
The water shines deep the moon.
Birds sing sweet sonatas,
While your heart strings play.
Lost in the forest, tangled trees
Stand so proud they keep you guessing.
You walk towards, strange fire calls,
Your feet they stumble as they fall.
Tripping over every little thought,
That dances through you head.
Still the memory burns so clear,
Of your lips so soft and tender.
Lighting candles in your eyes,
Finding feet that only falter.
So trepidly, they step into, The threshold of your heart.

Three Days
in Paris Fly me across the ocean,
We'll stay in your country home.
Take me away so that I can be free,
Walking through sunflower fields,
Biking down country roads.
Fly me across the ocean,
I'll build you a castle of love.
Speak to me now while the moon hangs so high.
Walking down cobblestone streets,
So silent the moon, you, and I.
Three days in Paris,
Don't know where they've gone.
I'm thinking that I left the kitchen light on.
I hopped on a plane,
But the plane wouldn't fly.
Walked down to the river,
But the river ran dry.
Fly me across the ocean,
I'll dress you in deep, forest green.
Walking along where the trees stand so tall,
Casting their leaves to the ground,
Hlow they change when the fall comes around.
Fly me across the ocean,
We'll ride on the wings of the sun.
Sinking so low in the pale lamp light,
Beneath where the earth sits so still,
While heaven is so high above.
Don't know where they've gone.
I can't remember why I came along.
I got you a bird,
but the bird wouldn't sing.
I climbed the cathedral,
but the bells wouldn't ring.
Three days in Paris,
Don't know where they've gone.
I thought I was free,
But I could have been wrong.
I called your home,
But the phone wouldn't ring.
I wondered why I didn't feel anything.

Way
to Blue Watching the hands on the clock go by,
Telling me when I'm going to die.
Well you'd like to believe that its
All just a matter of hours and days.
But I've known some moments that lasted for years,
And years flew by like days.
I'd like to be a little raincloud floating by,
With just a balloon keeping me so high.
I'd fool all the bees,
They wouldn't know what I was after,
But they can see through my disguise,
And they know that I'm just a silly bear.
On the fine side of the ocean,
Something waits for you.
When you're broken tired and weary,
You will find the way to blue.
Watching me rain ran from an English sky,
Feeling so down but you don't know why.
Could it be that you're hoping for
Changes to come in the weather.
But with every glimmer of sunshine that hits you,
A little min must fall.
Tasting the smell of a winter sky,
Trees are all bare but the leaves fly by.
Well maybe you're falling,
There's nothing for you to grab on to.
But look at the leaves they're all dancing on air,
And they don't seem to mind at all.

Aphrodite
The wind it came so suddenly,
When Aprhodite sang.
She came down from the heavens,
Her hair shone in the sun.
She walked along me waters edge,
Her feet they touched the ground.
She wondered at the beauty,
Of this place she had found.
Crystal river silent water,
Where the breezes,
They dance to the rhythm of your voice.
Sitting by the waterfall,
Gazing at the trees.
Listening to the moments,
That seem to float away.
Still I see you standing,
On a porch beneath the stars.
Golden notes cascading,
From an old broken guitar.
Listen slowly lovely lady,
Here the tidings of the words,
That will trickle from your heart.
Reflections from an angel,
Fall like pictures in a dream.
I gather up the pieces,
And throw them in the wind.
I catch a glimpse of Aphrodite,
Standing on the shore.
And I long to hear her,
Sing to me once more.
Passion flower, sweet surrender,
Falling further into dreams,
I walk beneath the silver moon.

Frontporch
Dreaming Songs and dandelions,
Rivers and trees.
Early morning sun,
Cool mountain breeze.
Pitching poles at night,
Look up at the sky.
Let the moon in you heart,
But don't ask why.
All that you need,
You will find if you see.
Just what you are,
Come and let yourself be.
Rainy autumn clouds,
Mist in your eye.
Pleasant memories,
Do they make you cry?
Walking close to you,
Walking alone.
Look into your heart,
Is it your own?
All that you love,
You will find if you know.
Just what you are,
Come and let yourself grow.
Frontporch dreaming,
Wavering trees.
Fireflies in your hair,
Sweet summer breeze.
Rocking back and forth,
Rock to and fro.
Evening falls around,
Time moves so slow.

Ocean I'm
standing on your shore,
The wind blows on my back,
My feet they sink right into the sand.
It's so soft where I walk,
I'm afraid to walk at all,
Amillions grains of sand
Swallow my two feet.
I want to run into your sea,
Dive down deep below,
Where the water feels so calm.
You're always in view,
Waves they break easily,
Still I don't think I'll go out too far.
The moon she is kind ,
The waves reflect her smile,
She watches over you I know.

The Moon and Me
Walking from the Bean,
I turn around to see,
There's the moon smiling down at me.
She says not a word,
For words escape her still,
So she gives her smile so willingly.
Isn't it strange,
The moon would smile at me.
Wouldn't want her to change,
She looks different every night you see,
The moon and me.
When the evening comes,
I walk down to the sea,
The waves they roll and,
Wash up on the shore.
I can feel her glow,
She shines in the dark,
And I'm not alone anymore.
Maybe the sun makes a pretty blue sky,
But the moon she brings a tear to my eye,
When I see her so high.
There are stars in the sky,
Clouds when the thunder rolls
Sometimes the rain falls heavily.
When I have to go,
Down that lonely road,
I know that she'll be smiling down at me.

Blue
You come and go while an ocean waits,
To lay his head on your shore.
All the birds have flown home,
You won't see them anymore.
Cinderella look outside,
There's a star hung just for you.
So wipe your eyes and know,
That things are not so blue.
I've seen a garden by the sea,
Where the son sleeps behind a velvet sky.
The moon she bathes in water pure and clear,
While rocking horses, they go riding by.
Hey little girl, working so hard,
Won't you come outside and smile.
The son came back to say,
He'd be here for awhile.
For the days are tripping on their feet,
As they run so fast to see.
What they're leaving behind,
It's only you and me.
Come to my garden by the sea,
Where the flowers write
The music of the rain.
The unicorn he walks right up to you,
And your voice it will bever be the same.

Sunflower There's
a place that holds the sunrise.
There's a sadness in your eyes.
There's a boy who wants to know you,
There's a heart that never dies.
It's a cold night in Atlanta,
When you seem so far away.
But the promise of the morning,
Makes everything okay.
When the skies are grey and empty,
The sun cannot be found.
Your eyes shine like a beacon,
They turn this world around.
There are ships beneath the ocean,
There's a child lost at sea.
But your voice it draws him homeward,
Where he longs to be. |
